Hello again! Downloaded a Texas Holdem poker game, found in your archives. When I ran the poker game, all of the cards show up perfectly! Then I downloaded a second set of card faces from the archive, and now only the bottom halves are being displayed! What have I done wrong, or not done? (I did notice that the original bitmap faces had the faces and a black space the same size immediately above the faces.) Thanks in advance for any help.

There are two techniques for displaying card images. Either drawbmp a .bmp image (no black mask) or draw the image as a masked sprite. One will use drawbmp in the code the other addsprite then drawsprites. Sprite drawing is much more versatile but needs sprite code.

If you use sprites you can overlay cards. In this Uno game I also set out the cards in arcs rather than straight lines. It just adds a bit of realism. If you get hold of Liberty BASIC you can also use cards.dll and there are tutorials to help you use it. It uses a built in set of card images. But working with a simple sprite based set of cards is just as much fun.

Thank you for the answer! Trying to get into JustBASIC from my previous long-ago experience with Visual Basic 3.0. Many differences, but thankfully much the same.
