I think he just did not know how to get text input out of a text control.

Hard to say what exactly is wanted but I know I'd hate to have to create a dialog window just to get some info from user specially when working with a menu of things to do.
The built in Prompt function is perfect for such information retrieval so then the code can setup a window and work according to desires of user.
Append: I have read that post over again a couple of times and am certain this is what they are looking for.
What is there to loose to offer it? ?
What is there to gain? everyone gets reminded of this Prompt function that is available to them.

😊 I am driven by the fact that I detest the prompt command. I find it clunky and inappropriate for a well crafted GUI. But that’s just me. Better description of the problem / task would help.
