Hello everyone,
I'm Catweazle from Germany and would like to introduce myself a bit. First of all I apologize for my English, I did not use it for many years now.
I used Windows for many years and now I use Linux for several reasons. When I used Windows I used LibertyBasic / Justbasic as a hobbyist for some programmes . Now under Linux there is no language like Justbasic. Programming became so much complicated, especially for a hobbyprogrammer. JAVA, C++ and others seem to be too complicated and not much fun.
I read that WINE enables Windows programmes to work under Linux. Is Justbasic running propperly under WINE? If so I would install it und give it a try and perhaps become an activ member of this forum.
I hope to receive some answers to that topic.
Regards, Catweazle

Hello Catweasle, welcome to the forums Short answer is yes, Just Basic works well in WINE. Many members here use JB in WINE on their Linux machines. goto wiki.winehq.org/Download and find the instructions for the distro you are using. Best option is the "stable" version, but if you are adventurous there are developer versions as well. Myself, I use Linux Mint Cinnamon with no problems using Just Basic or Liberty Basic Ok, I have one minor issue, not sure why, but at times the JB menu seems locked or frozen. To fix the issue I click the "Release notes" buttons in JB (far right button) then close it, and the menu works again. Happy to have you aboard.

Yes, John and xxgeek use wine. So the more users the better. Not really aware of any serious problems reported. Problem with Linux is there are so many variants. Not sure how many variants of Wine there are.
