I see two tabs at the bottom and I click on neither of them.
Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O!

and now I click the button Create Thread.

and now I click the button Create Thread. Post #2. This time clicked on Quote button. I do not click on either of the two tabs at lower left.

Another try, posting 'code' only using the Quick Reply field; and there is not pair of buttons on the bottem left.

Next I click on button "Post Quick Reply".

Next I click on button "Post Quick Reply". THAT was interesting. Now I am quoting that previous message. Let me click the BBCode button,... and let me put some tagged 'code'....

Once more in this topic.
I simply clicked the Reply button at top right.
I AM clicking the Preview tab at the bottom of the text compose field....
Nothing changed yet.
Let me put some tagged code...

Don’t click the Preview if you are posting code. Click on the BBCode before you post the code.
If you then click the Preview the forum will still spoil your post and double space the lines. So use the quick reply or do as tsh73 suggests and set BBCode as the default.

"BBCode as default"? Is this something in our profile settings? Some upfront announcement to members about this lines double spacing thing would be good for members. Not sure where. |

I just entered into my profile section, Edit Profile, found Settings tab, and switched to the BBCode default instead of Preview. I will watch how things go from here onward. |

Nice topic and discussion, for sure! But I wonder if the word "posted" can be inserted into the title so the title could be "Watching for unintended line spacings in posted code between the code tags"?
