'to use this you need music/song files in .wav format. 'on Linux it's easy to convert any .mp3 file into .wav 'I do this, open any .mp3 file using mhWaveEdit then 'choose save as option and Microsoft WAV format (.wav) 'on Windows also you may find some software for converting 'audio files. dim info$(0,0) print DefaultDir$ [setpath] p$="Z:\root\Just BASIC v2.0\media":mufile$="*.wav" print p$ print "------------------------------" [load] files p$,mufile$,info$() if val(info$(0,0))=0 then print "no file found!":goto [quit] print "the following files are found :" for i=1 to val(info$(0,0)) print i;" ";info$(i,0) next print "------------------------------" [play] i=0 while 1 input"enter a number to play ";i if int(i)=i and i>0 and i<val(info$(0,0)) then exit while print "try again..." wend
print "playing now ...";info$(i,0) playwave p$;"\";info$(i,0),async [stop] print print input "enter any key to quit ";i$ playwave "" [quit] end

I found mhWaveEdit didn't correctly recognise the file type of MP3's I tried ( there are many versions of MP3). But excellent online converters exist- I use www.freeconvert.com

I did not check with other versions of MP3. check once ffconvert also whether it works or not. VLC player also can be used for conversion but it doesn't support .wav in output.
