I would like to read all of the files attributes, in a specified folder, and update the date taken property if it is null. Is this possible with Just Basic?
Thanks

Methinks it lies well out of JB reach. Googling shows folks use PowerShell for that.
Is it EXIF data and stored right in a file?

I assume we are talking pictures. What file format .bmp .tiff .jpg? I believe the date taken MAY be in the picture file within the EXIF data block. So it would be a case of opening the file and searching for the tag and then reading the data. Not sure if it is in clear or compressed.
Anyway step one, what file .extensions are they pictures. how do you know they contain EXIF data.

Certainly for some cameras it is easy to read EXIF data and alter it/resave. Picture is for one of my cameras. But for others the EXIF data is not in plain-text form. See my website EXIF page
