As everyone knows, the JustBasic Wiki Went down some months back. But did you know that there's a dump of it at Internet Archives? If you download the zip file you'll find that the website itself won't work correctly. The home page will load in the browser but the links are all messed up. However, it has two folders called "files" and "pages". These two folders have a lot of great sample programs and other stuff. I'm thinking about writing a JustBASIC program that will extract that data in a usable format. I think this might be a good challenge for the JB community if anyone is interested in taking it up. Here's the link to the page where you can download the zip file. It's about 33.5 megabytes unzipped: JustBASIC.WikiSpaces @ archive.org

I just found something else that might be of interest. I found the old JustBASIC conforums site at Internet Archives. Obviously it would no longer be interactive, but there were a ton of shared programs and clips there that could be invaluable, especially to a new user. I can't figure out any way to download it, but it's in the Internet Archives "WayBack Machine". If anyone figures out a way to download the whole thing, even if it doesn't work, please let me know. What we want is the data from the actual posts, not the BB itself. There's probably a ton of stuff there in the database that could be mined and turned into a sort of archived JB resource site. It's all data that actually belongs to the JB community, and some of it would be worth creating a static site to archive it, if it can be done. I felt like we lost a lot when we lost this forum. It was one of the things that made JustBASIC and LibertyBASIC so appealing when I first got interested in it. We still have a forum, but it doesn't have all the archived information that the old forum has from a time when it was much more active than it is today.
Edit: Awe! Snap! The pages with the actual posts don't work. Probably because that information was in a database instead of a flat file.
Oh well. Still a bit of nostalgia here. And maybe someone will figure out how to get the page data back. You would think there would be backups of the database somewhere???

There is still work going on to republish these resources. They were huge and useful. They do retain the copyright notices so while it is ok to capture for your own use please do not republish the content.

The stuff I found on JustBASIC (the wiki) says it's under Creative Commons license. I'll have to look closer at that license because I'm not that familiar with it.
Does someone still have the data from the old conforums site?

Yes, the folks that have supported this forum and built those resources have all of the data. The issue is, lets say, persistence. We have lost a number of resources and had to cope with providers disappearing. So we are relying less on third party hosts going forwards. Server side software upgrades have delayed the project.
