Please help me to enerate a code for a seriies let say wit 100 records with letter A, B,C .In these series should be randomly 70% A ,20%B and 10%c.I tried to use RND but no succes. Thancs

Throw a random integer between 0 and 100. If it is less than 10 then a 'C' is appropriate. If it is less than 30, but not <10 then 'B' because this is a 20% band Otherwise ( 70%) then 'A'.
Neatest way is to use 'select... case..' which is in the Help files.
If you are still struggling I'll post code that produced the result below tomorrow- but remember we don't do homework for you!
NB Each run will vary- that's what rnd() does!

RND is not just 3 letters it is RND(0) or any other inside () see Help on RND

I don't really understand what you are describing in this reply. The code you posted no longer choses 'C', yet your output shows 'C' being chosen! And int(rnd(1)*10) generates integers between 0 and 9, not percentages.

I took this to mean 70%, 20%,10% probability for each generated datum. My method does exactly that, however many 'throws' you want. You took it to mean that however many throws, the data string should have exactly that percentage of A, B and C. This can only work for certain length of data generated...
I still don't know what the OP intended!!

Based on his feedback from your reply, I am thinking he wants exactly 70% A's, 30% B's or in original post, 70% A's, 20% B's and 10% C's.
My first impulse also was to go the r = RND(0) and then use SELECT CASE and get around 70% A's 20% B's 10% C's as you had done. BUT! if you want exactly 70% A's, 20% B's, 10% C's you have to totally rethink your approach to the problem.
I repeat my hint, think of a deck of cards where exactly 4/52 * 100 % exactly are Kings and 13/52 * 100 % are exactly Hearts...
If you want exactly 70% A's, 20% B's, 10% C's start with a string containing exactly those ratios of letters and randomly pull letters out of that string until no letters are left.

Ah, your range is wrong for B's and you are printing C but counting A???, and vice versa for case else.
B's range is r >= .1 to r < .3 because the difference is .2 That will leave .7 (1 -.3) for A's
And as I said before, this method will get you around 70% A, 20% B, 10% C, not exactly those %'s unless really lucky!

Random is random and you will never get an exact series. So you are not describing the problem correctly. If you want to take 100 random scores and set them into segments of <10% <20% and the remainder 70% you have to choose the cutoff point which is kinda like setting exam pass marks. They can vary!
So spend more time telling us what the problem really is. Rather than what does not work.
